Boards and Committees
of the Vermont Supreme Court
Advisory Committee on Rules of Probate
Procedure
|
|
|
 |
Information
The Advisory
Committee on the Rules of Probate Procedure is the committee
which recommends to the Vermont Supreme Court changes to the
Probate Rules. The committee addresses suggestions for
changes, as well as problems which arise in the procedural
rules by which the Probate Courts of the State operate.
The twelve
members of the committee include Judges, Registrars,
Attorneys and lay persons. The Supreme Court
designates the chair of the committee. The Supreme Court
also appoints a lawyer to serve as reporter for the
committee. The reporter revises or drafts rules at the
request of the committee or the Supreme Court. The
reporter's notes, which are published in the Rules, explain
the history and application of the Rules.
