Correction of a Marriage Certificate


Errors contained in Marriage Certificates can be corrected by filing a Petition with the Probate Court

A certified copy of the marriage certificate and evidence pertaining to the correction(s) to be made must accompany the completed and signed form. Acceptable evidence includes: Birth Certificate, Baptismal Certificate, Medical Records, School Records, and/or any other official documents showing the corrections needed. Whenever possible file certified copies (with an official signature and raised seal).

Petition may be mailed or personally delivered to the Probate Court. If you are mailing the Petition, please include the filing fee which is currently $25.00. Please keep a copy of the Petition for your records.
