| Honorable Paul L. Reiber, Chief Justice Honorable John Dooley, Associate Justice Honorable Denise Johnson, Associate Justice Honorable Marilyn Skoglund, Associate Justice Honorable Brian L. Burgess, Associate Justice Honorable, Paul L. Reiber, Chief Justice Paul L. Reiber of Chittenden, Vermont was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on June 20, 1947 and became a resident of Vermont in 1976. He graduated Hampden-Sydney College, Hampden-Sydney, Virginia (B.A., 1970); and Suffolk Law School, Boston, Massachusetts (J.D., 1974). He is married to the former Sandra Sherburne, and they have two daughters. He served in the private practice of law in Rutland and as a partner in the law firm Kenlan, Schweibert & Facey from 1986 until his appointment as an Associate Justice by Governor James Douglas in October, 2003. He was sworn in as Chief Justice of the Vermont Supreme Court by Governor Douglas on December 17, 2004. Honorable John Dooley, Associate Justice Honorable Denise Johnson, Associate Justice Honorable Marilyn Skoglund, Associate Justice Honorable Brian L. Burgess, Associate Justice Brian L. Burgess of Montpelier, Washington County was born in Washington D.C. in January of 1951. He attended elementary and high schools in Vienna, Virginia. In 1973, he received a B.A. from the College of Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts and a J.D. from Villanova University School of Law in 1976. Before his appointment to the bench as a District Court Judge in 1992, he served as Deputy Attorney General (1985-1992), Commissioner, and prior Deputy Commissioner, of the Department of Labor and Industry (1983-1985), Assistant Attorney General (1978-1983), staff attorney for Vermont’s social welfare department (1978), and associate in the offices of Timothy J. O’Connor, Jr. Esq. (1976-1977), and Donovan & O’Connor (1977-1978). He served as the Vermont Administrative Trial Judge from 2004, until appointed as Associate Justice to the Vermont Supreme Court on July 8, 2005, by Governor James H. Douglas.
