Biography:

My name is Lucia White and I have spent most of my career helping families at a crossroads. I started Another Way Mediation, LLC in July of 2022 so I could use that experience to help families like yours.

Before starting Another Way, I worked as a paralegal in a family law office in the greater Burlington area. I started mediation courses at Champlain College in 2020, completing my coursework there in 2022. I have been mediating since early 2021. I am also a Parent Coordinator.

Before moving to Vermont in January 2014, I spent over 16 years working in child protection, primarily in Austin, Texas. I held positions as a foster care case manager, team leader, director, and guardian ad litem volunteer, supervisor, and team leader. By 2011, the legal side of the child protection system piqued my interest, and after earning my paralegal certificate, I became a paralegal for an office representing children in child protection cases. From March 2014 to February 2020, I worked as a paralegal and practice manager in a busy Burlington law firm, mostly in intellectual property and environmental law.

I am currently the Pro Bono Chair and a Past President of the Vermont Paralegal Organization (VPO). I also hold memberships with Vermont Family Mediators (VFaM), the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC), the Vermont Bar Association (paralegal member), the National Federation of Paralegal Associations (NFPA), and NALA. I am on the Board of Directors of KidSafe Collaborative and I volunteer as a paralegal with the legal clinic at Steps to End Domestic Violence in Burlington. I also volunteer at Feeding Chittenden.
