Thea has been an attorney for 35 years with focus on family law, mediation and parent coordination. She was a partner at Hertz & Lloyd before joining the Vermont judiciary as case manager and guardian ad litem supervisor in 2010. In 2014 she developed and coordinated Windham County’s Integrated Domestic Violence Docket. In January 2016 she resumed her private practice as a mediator and parent coordinator. Her mediation practice includes family law, special education, probate, property and other disputes.
Thea teaches the Family Court’s parent education course “Coping with Separation and Divorce”. She is co-author of “Criminal Justice 101” published in 2015.
Thea obtained a B.A from Boston University before receiving her J.D from Northeastern Law School. In 1994 Thea completed a divorce and family mediation training at Woodbury College. She co-leads the Vermont Family Mediator organization, VFaM, and is a member of the Vermont Bar Association and the Association of Family and Conciliatory Courts.
